Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Gibson operates via a central headquarters based in Nashville, TN, supporting five manufacturing facilities as well as four regionally-based support centres that enable the sales, marketing, and distribution activities in each of four different worldwide regions.


Manage and process semi-monthly disbursements of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes in compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws.


  • Coordination with HR Business Partners to ensure accurate and timely multi state payroll disbursements for 1000 employees
    • Including garnishments, benefits, and taxes in compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws
  • Input new hire and employee data changes in HRIS and benefit systems
  • Reconcile benefit/insurance invoices
  • Create and submit journal entries to accounting when applicable
  • Verification of employment
  • Auditing of other payroll cycles
  • Producing reports as needed


Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years processing multi-state payroll
  • Strong benefits knowledge
  • Promotes a strong positive team environment
  • CPP or FPC preferred but not required
  • Must have a high level of self-motivation
  • Strong HR/Payroll systems background
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Advanced Computer Skills (Excel, SQL, Minitab)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
